I’m am super excited to announce that I will be doing some personal training at Minnesota Top Team in Eagan, MN. I wanted to share my thoughts about why I chose this gym to work at and what you can expect when you visit the gym to train with me, or to take part in any of their other classes. 

I personally believe that the big-box gym model is broken. A recent statistic said that 15% of Americans have gym memberships, and of those 15% many do not regularly use them. The big gym chains are focused on getting you in and signing you up. But more often then not, they fail to make a personal connection with their members. People sign up with hopes and dreams of changing their lives, but then get lost and confused on the gym floor with no guidance or encouragement. Soon, they stop going and eventually their rates go up. Then they cancel. The system is broken.

There are many reasons I chose to start my own business rather than work at a big-box gym. I want to make personal connections. I want my clients to know that they mean a lot to me. I don’t want them lost on the gym floor. In-home training has been going great, but my love of heavy lifting means I needed a gym to train my clients at as well. This is how I found Minnesota Top Team.

Minnesota Top Team has a very impressive facility. They offer classes in Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Boxing, Muay Thai, Fitness and Core Circuit Training, as well as recently adding CrossFit. The owners are passionate and personable. Every time I’ve walked through the door they greet me by name. They are invested in their clients and the gym has a family-type atmosphere. But a family that works hard and sweats harder. In short, the opposite of your big-box gym.

The great thing for me and my clients is that my clients do not need a membership to train with me at the gym! Just pay for your session!
